This is our new interview series where we will be interviewing various renowned bike builders and designers across the globe. Today is our first interview session, it is going to be great as we have interviewed the world famous Italian Independent bike designer Oberdan Bezzi.

Oberdan Bezzi

He has designed various bikes till now also his designs were already used by various brands and custom bike builders.

Oberdan Bezzi takes his important time to answer our some of the interview questions:

1. Which is the first bike you purchased from your own money?
My first motorcycle was bought by my parents when I was 14. It was an ASPES Navaho 50, .... beautiful! Then at 16, I got a KTM GS 125 as a present, which I still remember very nostalgically.
The first bike purchased with my work was a KAWASAKI GP 550 Unitrack, .... used, but in excellent shape, which I immediately worked out.

2. When did you realised that you wanted to be a bike designer?
The passion for motorcycles was born with me. My mother always tells me that as a child, I did nothing but draw cars and motorcycles all day long. Then I did technical studies to get the best preparation, so I started to enter the world of work.

3. Which is your dream bike?
I love supersport motorcycles, indeed, just those racing, but in general I like them all.
If I could, I would like a MotoGP, approved to be able to drive on normal roads, but maybe it could be a bit ... dangerous!

4. What's your point of view on electric bikes?
Will be the future, first for normal urban mobility, then for pleasure and hedonism and (unfortunately) completely replace the internal combustion engine.

5. Who are others people who inspired you for your work?
I admired and followed the work of the best designers in the world, I was lucky enough to know them and see their way of acting, today I think I could teach something to new generations of motorcycle designers.

6. Whats your new project?
A very exciting and engaging project (not electric), but for obvious reasons of contract, .... I can not tell you anything else!
